What is ATTITUDE?
Webster
Defines attitude as: The position of something in relation to
something else . In Proverbs 18:14: The spirit of a man will
sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
Our attitude if allowed to be ruled and directed by wisdom can help us survive any difficulty that comes our way in life. If our bad attitude is allowed to run free, it can and will drive us to hardship and even suicide. Our attitude is like a two-edged sword! It can deal with life's trouble and leave us joyous and leave us on top of the world. Or it can put us in much pain. Our attitude takes us anywhere we want to go. Up or Down!
Read 1 Cor.2:9. Our attitude colors our whole personality. We cannot always choose what happens to us, but we can choose our attitude toward each situation. Life has no problems, only opportunities!
Webster defines anger as: A strong feeling of displeasure, rage, wrath, fury, indignation.
Having a gentle attitude with words is the most powerful weapon against an offended person. There is a promised blessing on a peacemaker. Read Matthew 5:9.
If we have offended another go and be reconciled to them. Read Matthew 5:23-26. We are also to live in peace with all men. Read Hebrews 12:14. A first step in the right direction in controlling our anger is to recognize just how counterproductive it is. What will it benefit us to tell some one off, or give them a piece of our mind? It will only embarrass ourselves and we come to regret it.
A wrathful
person is one that gets angry quickly, at even the slightest
provocations they react immediately against the person that
offended them.
Which
of course provokes the offending party to greater anger. What
could have been solved easily becomes a major conflict. Angry
people are fools, for they defy wisdom by their emotional
outburst. We should avoid and reject these people, because they
will corrupt our spirit!
